Hello everyone… hope you are all well and staying safe inside, tucked up with a book, your crafty bits or even if you’re screaming and shouting at your family… at least you’re inside.
Over the years of crafting, I have made very few things for me and I decided a while ago I was going to change all that. I’ve started to use my journal more and I’ve made a few things ‘just for me’. So as I’m off work at the moment, I thought I would use the gorgeous Visible Image stamps to make a little canvas for my craft room.
I have a lot of stuff on the walls in here… framed photos, paintings by relatives (which aren’t great but sentimental), a gorgeous textured make by the Mum of someone I work with and I thought it was about time I added to it.
It’s not a huge canvas, only 8×6″ but it took me a while to do… waiting for the inks to dry, the crackle paste, the modelling paste and then all that fussy cutting! I didn’t take any pictures along the way as I usually do, I just got lost in the making process.
The background colour is a mix of Distress Oxide ink pads and Distress Oxide Sprays (colours: Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio) which I’ve smooshed on and then spritzed and dripped…. I also dripped on some shimmer ink too.
I’ve then used an Aall and Create stencil (Totally Dotty) to add some texture over my crackle paste.
The stamped and heat embossed images have all been stamped onto watercolour card coloured using Distress Spray Stains (colours: Pink Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Spiced marmalade) using Versafine and then heat embossed using Wow!’s Clear Gloss embossing powder. All the stamps are Visible Image and are from either Total Chaos, Creative Chaos or Random Art of Kindness.
The different elements have been layered, cut into, and the dots saved to add elsewhere. The main floral image was stamped five times and layered using foam tape and those little leaves… arghh! I love them!!
And that, as they say, is it. Just a little one today… who knows maybe I’ll venture onto a bigger one as I do have some kicking around here somewhere!?
All the stamps used are from Visible Image and and I said, the ‘Totally Dotty’ stencil is from Aall and Create.
I’m off to get these pupsters out… or maybe have a cuppa… better get dressed first!
