Total Chaos: Visible Image

Well hello again…

Goodness.  I’ve been in a crafting frenzy since the latest stamps form Visible Image arrived as I cannot get enough of them!!  How fabulous are they?!  I totally take my hat off to Mark and Helen as once again they have produced a fabulous array with something for everyone.

Creative Chaos was a hugely popular set and I have seen it on many pages and Instagram posts so when I found out they were doing a bigger version I was super excited!  Total Chaos is an A5 set, the larger flower being 1/3 bigger than in Creative Chaos.  There is also a fabulous funky flower, a leaf that is to die for and that scribble stamp!! Arghhh!! Heaven!!

This is my first make using the set and I’ve used a gelli print background I had already made.  I loved this print as it’s pretty textural and the paint has crackled around the edges slightly.

You can see that I’ve used the Stars and Stripes stencil on both the gelli print and then used it to stencil on some Tonic Studios Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Poppy Pink) down one side.

The background was made using Distress Oxide Ink Pads and Spray Stains. I’ve just smooshed the ink pads over the watercolour card, spritzed with water and then, while wet, spritzed on the Distress Spray Stains.  I wanted the colours to blend and bleed in to each other and by adding lots of water and the spray stains that’s exactly what I got!

I left the background to air dry as I didn’t want any warping and once dry added a good spritz of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Pretty Pink) to get a beautiful shimmer to the card.  With this dry, I stamped the large flower head four times using Versafine Clair (Nocturne) and then the leaf three times.  I managed to squeeze on the small flower head a few times too!

To emphasise the beautiful flower, I trimmed and layered up different elements and used foam dots to achieve this look.  Having stamped the full flower where I wanted it onto the gelli print, I then stamped the scribble stamp several times around the edges so it appeared behind the flower.

Before adhering the flower head in place, I scrunched white cotton thread to it acted as a 3D scribble almost… if you get me?!

I treated the leaves and little flowers the same way, layering them up before gluing in place.

With everything added to the background, I stamped the ‘Chaos Theory’ stamp in the top corner, almost like a postmark and then added Ranger’s Glossy Accents to give yet more texture.  With the addition of a few adhesive gems, the card was matted onto black card stock before adding to an 8×5″ card blank.

Here are the Visible Image products I used for this make…
