Breathe: Visible Image

Hello everyone…

A little while ago I made a stack of gelli printed backgrounds, popped them away somewhere safe and then forgot about them… until the other day when I was looking for something else and came across them and one of them was the starting point for today’s Visible Image make.

I’ve used just two visible Image stencils on the background, 1983 and Stars and Stripes, and the colours were perfect to go with the Just Breathe stamp set.

Having decided I wanted quite a textured look to my focal point, I grabbed some printed text paper and heat embossed the torso stamp using Wow!’s ‘British Summertime Regular’. I then set about trimming it out using a new scape blade so it was tip-top sharp and cut beautifully.

With the image trimmed it was time to start placing it on the background and I decided to have some of the white edging (that hadn’t been printed on) on one side so I could add more colour and texture.

For this I used the Count Me In stencil and Distress Oxide Ink Pads in Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. They were layered, moving he stencil around so that was all a bit of an organised jumble!

With the background trimmed and scuffed up around the edges, I matted it onto silver card stock before securing to an 8 x 5.5″ card blank. As I wanted the wanted the torso stamps to really stand out, I roughly drew around it onto vellum and cut it out. Having scuffed those edges too, I softened the image by adding some white cotton behind it, added 3D foam dots to the rear of the horse and adhered into place.

The heart was then heat embossed in red onto a scrap of card, trimmed, edged in black and popped in place using more 3D foam dots.

The sentiment, from the Just Be Happy set, was heat embossed onto some card I had already sprayed and inked using Distress Spray Stains and ink pads.  Using the same ‘British Summertime Regular’ heat embossing powder as before, matted onto silver card stock using foam tape and secured in place.

And there you have it…
