World Postage Day

Morning lovelies…

Well… what a right ol’ week it’s been.  Stress at work and then next door has a nasty fire, although no one was hurt (thankfully).  I think we were very lucky not to have fire damage, just smoke and a light dusting of soot (which is a bugger to clean off).  Deep breath… all sorted-ish now though, just a smelly smokey home.

Anyway, October 9th is recognised world wide as being World Postage Day, the day that the universal post as we know it today first began  and has been celebrated yearly since 1969.

Who doesn’t love receiving something fabulous through the post?  I’m not talking a bill or an electoral review (as I seem to keep getting) but the odd hand written piece of happiness popping through the letterbox.  As a crafter who sends lots of happy post all over the world, I would be lost without the service so when the lovely Rachel from Craft Consortium asked the DT if we had anything suitable to share on the day, I set about making this little card.

The papers have been layered and gold embossed in areas to mirror the beautiful metallic elements on the Gypsy Gypsy papers.

Twine has been wrapped around the postcard to make it look like a little bundle of sentimental letters kept as a keepsake.

The corner of the card has been embellished using a metal filigree corner from Santoro and some sparkly turquoise adhesive gems.

For this make, I’ve used the utterly stunning and gorgeous ‘Gypsy Gypsy‘ paper pack.  A truly beautiful pad with the most scrumptious designs that have metallic  as well as pearlescent shimmer elements AND even includes a rub-on transfer sheet!!

Just a small selection but you get the idea… just stunning papers.

Where would we all be without the postman?! Very lost methinks.  Happy World Postage Day everyone xx

This is fabulous Heather, love the design and very true indeed we would definitely be lost without the post. I hope that you get rid of the smokey aroma from your home soon.
    Hugs
