Hello everyone,
A very quickie from me today as I’m trying to do about 10 things at once (as we all do)!
I had a little bit of time in the craft room yesterday after catching up on the housework and filling up the pups paddling pool (it was soon hot here yesterday!) and so I thought I’d have a play with the Gelli plate again.
The background has been ‘printed’ in a range of pinks, lilacs and copper and gold which just look super-girlie and then I’ve applied white acrylic to the back of a large leaf and pressed in onto the background. It is quite faint but it looks really pretty (trust me!) To complete the metallic look, I’ve taken large cardboard inserts (they’re ticket spools from the empty rolls at work!) and I’ve dipped them in gold and copper before applying them to the background. I love the fact they’re pretty huge!
I forgot I had some fabulous Kaisercraft stamps tucked away so I used them to add texture before adding Prima marketing’s beautiful butterfly stamp – which I’ve heat embossed in copper. The little bird is from an amazing set that came free with a magazine a while ago… (but I forget who made them).
Instead of using twine or raffia for the bunting, I’ve threaded of ‘old’ gelli printed scraps onto floristry wire just to give it a different look.
With the added addition of some torn wash tape butterflies, I’ve added a sentiment from Craft Asylum and attached it to some ribbon using staples (to match the wire theme?!)
And here’s the finished make…
The shimmery metallic paints looked beautiful yesterday but not quite so shimmery and sunny today in the rain! Ha! I knew summer wouldn’t last long!
That’s all for now folk but hope to see you again soon x

I knew you’de be hooked on the gelli printing once you tried it LOL

The results are just always fabulous and it’s not like it’s difficult! I love stamping and adding more texture over the top of my backgrounds so next is to work on adding those to the print itself. Loving it!! x
