Valentines Day

Never sure if I love or loathe this day.  I hate the commercialism of it all and they way a flowers say rocket by daft proportions but I like the way it gives our other halves (and us!) a gentle nudge to remember to appreciate all they do for us.

I do, however, love the giving of a hand-made card. I love locking myself away to make ‘his’ card and see what I can come up with.  This isn’t it by the way, I was just playing around when I made this.  ‘His’ card will be tip-top secret until the day.

I saw something similar to this on Pinterest and thought it would be a good way to use up those endless bits of scrap I have in colour co-ordinated plastic wallets (I’m something of an organisation freak).

The inside of the card is really simple too.  Die-cut the hearts and then just hand draw the black outlines.

The hearts are incredibly simple to make and do.  Using Xcut punches, trim a handful in different shades of red and pink (other colours are available!) and fold them in the centre.  I’ve used two different sizes and interspersed with a tiny Sizzix heart. To finish, fill up empty areas with adhesive gems et voila! Really simple and quick but effective and pretty looking.

I’m off to keep a look out incase the postman should bring anything nice!

H xx
