A little bit of Summer

Hello again everyone… I know!  Two posts in two days!  Unbelievable! Haha… can you tell I’m on annual leave from work?!

So, part of my design team kit from docrafts was some of their new stamps.  I received a few but for this make I used ‘Meadow’ and ‘Forest’.  I won’t lie, I was a bit nervous to be playing with them as I wasn’t really sure what I was aiming for.

The background is stencilled; one is a Sheena Douglas stencil the little plea dots one I have no idea!  This adds texture and a sprinkling of colour to what could end up a bit dull looking.

I’ve used so many inks on the stamps, just dabbed them on so I could catch the different colours you would expect to find in an actual meadow!   The pads are all Tim Holtz Distress Inks as his range of colours is unbelievable and I seem to have quite a fair few of them now!

You can just see the pink card I’ve sandwiched in-between. I like doing this to my cards as it helps the card stand that little bit better and plus it looks a bit more finished.

To give the card a bit of ‘life’, I’ve popped on a wash tape string of bunting which could be fluttering int he summer breeze although you may have to bear with me on that one, I couldn’t have picked a chillier day!

The sentiment is made from the little docrafts letters that I love and are so easy to use.  Tim Holtz does lovely black ones pretty much the same but the creamy docrafts letters can be inked on the edges and I like that!

Busy day tomorrow so I’ll say ta-ra for now.

Keep warm people! H x
