A Little Pot of Sunshine

January is such a miserable time of the year and with so many places in the UK suffering from blasts of snow and icy chills what better than to make a Springtime card with gorgeous florals.

I’ve used docrafts ‘Simply Floral’ range for this make and inked up the edges to add a bit of shabby chic.

Embossing folders are my new crafty best friend recently and this one is ‘Beautiful Bunting’ from Embossalicious.  Being 8×8″ it enables you to make larger cards without the stress of your folder not fitting.  My top tip would definitely be to invest in larger folders as the smaller ones can be a weeny bit restrictive.  Don’t forget you can ink them up before embossing which gives a soft muted tone on your cards… or use Core’dinations card with a sanding block to bring the pattern out in a distressed way.

The flowers are (as always) the lovely Tattered Florals from Tim Holtz.  I do have other floral dies but these are my default flower as the look so fabulous when shaped and inked.

That’s it from me today, I’m off to work for a late shift and to freeze my nose off despite the gloves, fleece, big parka, beanie hat etc… brrrrrrr!! Wrap up warm everyone and stay inside (preferably under a duvet!) if you can.

What a stunner of a card… Love your use of bright and colourful papers to make this knock out and dimensional card!! The textured card backing really makes the flowers stand out.
