docrafts Design Team Blog Hop!

Morning all…

Welcome to the first ever docrafts Creativity Club Design Team blog hop!! Welcome back to you if you’re a regular to my blog and a big cheery hello to anyone who has hopped on by for the first time. So, pop the kettle on, pull up a chair and enjoy skipping through the blogs. If you like what you see, feel free to pop a comment on and join in. Right, let’s go…

I thought I’d blog about a card I made for one of the docrafts designers who has sadly decided to step down from the team. Paula Whittaker’s designs have been just fabulous and her own blog: always has some inspirational makes being shown and you have to check out her latest project as it is just beautiful.

I made Paula a Gorjuss card that I’ve heavily embellished using the fantastic products available from docrafts.

I started with the Bare Basics butterfly that I have decoupaged with their text tissue paper, wrapping it round the detailed wings, finishing it with a spritz of the Aubergine Spritzing Ink and some adhesive gems.

The project uses the sumptuous coloured Gorjuss papers which I just love and they are perfect for Father’s Day cars too! The aperture has been die-cut using the Scalloped Circle Extra Large Nesting Dies from Xcut and has been enhanced from the inside using one of the frames from the Gorjuss decoupage pack with a few sparkly blitters added in the bottom corner.

The embellishment in the top right uses a Gorjuss bottle topper which I’ve flattened using the Xcut A4 Express Die Cutting machine which is my new best friend in the craft room! Being able to die cut large projects takes your crafting to a whole new level and the adjustable plates means you can die-cut and embellish a huge range of materials. Did I mention I love it?! Haha…

So there you have it. The first docrafts design team blog hop! Whoop! Please do ‘hop’ on over to look at the other blogs and all their lovely makes!

Thanks for joining in… hope to see you all again soon!

Fabulous card Heather. I love the Gorjuss range and this card proves that the little girl (adorable though she is) doesn’t always have to be the centre of attention.

Fab card. I am addicted to all things altered art at the mo and bought a load of those wooden shapes to stick on everything. Love what you did with your wooden butterfly and design ideas for gorjuss cards are always welcome.
